- Abstract
The author discusses the state of LGBT rights in Mongolia in 2012, after the Communist government was dismantled in 1992. Mongolia's democratic ranking, economic development, and government policies regarding LGBT people are discussed, and the founding of the non-governmental organization (NGO) the LGBT Centre in Mongolia by executive director Otgonbaatar Tsedendemberel is described. Ts. Otgonbaatar's arrest in 2007 and his television show "We Are Youth" are mentioned, and discrimination against LGBT people and women in Mongolia is discussed. The 2012 Mongolian elections are also mentioned.
