- Abstract
This document summarizes a study on the genetic factors associated with frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) in Brazil. The study found a high occurrence of specific HLA-B variants in FFA patients, suggesting a genetic susceptibility to the condition. The study also explored the evolutionary relationship and molecular structures of these variants. The findings suggest that certain alleles from cluster 'A' may be associated with FFA, and environmental exposures and certain compounds may trigger the condition by eliciting follicular inflammation and HLA expression. Further research is needed to investigate the molecular docking of these compounds with the HLA-B alleles.
