- Abstract
The article evaluates 20 genotypes of Dutch disease-resistant elms (Ulmus spp.) in a study for resistance to multiple insect pests in Lexington, Kentucky. A new state record was found in the European elm flea weevil (EEFW), Orchestes alni. Originally from Japan, U. parvifolia and U. propinqua were found to be resistant to Japanese beetles, while U. americana was found to be less susceptible than hybrids. The study analyzes the implications for re-introduction of elms into urban landscapes.
