- Title
CHILE Y LOS DESAFÍOS GLOBALES DE SEGURIDAD.
- Authors
Spielman, John Griffiths
- Abstract
The present article introduces the topic 'Chile and the Global Security Challenges' proposing a security notion which is related to every violent and intentional event that as a consequence of its own impact produces casualties. All this comes from the perspective of a country like Chile which, despite being small, is highly interconnected worldwide. Consequently, Chile should expect a higher impact on its security scenario due to the existing global threats. The article emphasizes that in the current security scenarios the geographical and peripheric position of a country is not necessarily a key variable preventing the effects of current threats on its own security.
