- Title
Poetess Futures: Unsettling Victorian Poetry at Scale.
- Authors
Chapman, Alison
- Abstract
And if poetess poems, as critics such as Brown often claim, both embrace and resist poetess poetics, how is poetess poetry discoverable at scale by a user's advanced searches and by markup labels? Not all these poems can necessarily be identified as poetess poems, although the fact that they share several poetics features with poetess poems suggests a shared poetic subculture. Given the massive quantity of poems that Victorians read in serial print, the range of poets conventionally associated with the poetess seems extremely limited.
