- Abstract
An interview is presented with the Jamaican novelist and columnist of the Jamaican newspaper "Gleaner" Diana McCauley. When asked about the intended readership for her book "Dog-Heart," she refers to Jamaicans who do not usually read Caribbean fiction. She discusses the book's main character Sahara's status within the middle class within the inner city. When asked about the relationship between skin color and social class in Jamaica, she maintains that there is.
