The article focuses on the business partnership of Benjamin Davidson, agent of investment banking firm N M Rothschild & Sons and the German merchant Heinrich Schliemann for mining in California. It mentions their partnership for a few months in 1851-1852 and their letters which reveals their business activities and history of California. It adds that their letters are present in the Rothschild Archive in London, England and in archives of the California Historical Society.
