- Abstract
This document is the second part of a special issue on Latin American economies. It contains five essays that provide insights into the economic situations, economic policies, political tendencies, and governance issues in Latin American countries. The essays highlight the heterogeneity among these countries, with Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico facing different problems. Brazil and Mexico have focused on achieving financial stability, even at the expense of economic and social development. The essays also discuss the challenges and changes in the Mexican, Brazilian, and Argentinian economies, as well as the problems of democratic governance in Latin American countries.
