- Abstract
A recent study examined the analgesic efficacy of adding a transversalis fascia plane block to a multimodal analgesia regime in women undergoing caesarean section under spinal anesthesia with intrathecal opioids. The study found that patients who received the transversalis fascia plane block had significantly lower 24-hour cumulative morphine consumption compared to control patients. However, the study did not specify whether the reported morphine consumption was oral or intravenous. The addition of the transversalis fascia plane block did not result in a significant difference in postoperative recovery or patient satisfaction scores. Therefore, the clinical value of this intervention is questionable.
