- Abstract
The article focuses on the competition between public and private digital libraries in the U.S. It mentions that private libraries classified orphan works and active copyright works into public domain. It informs that the U.S. copyright law considered special provisions that are limited to nonprofit libraries and noncommercial activities to ensure the protection of doctrines for fair use. It informs that private libraries drawn new revenue stream to provide privacy to their users.
