- Authors
Goldman, Michael I.
- Abstract
The article looks at the decision of the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of "Lamadrid v. Nat'l Union Fire Ins. Co." that raises the potential for a drastic expansion of losses covered by the type of marine insurance policy known as an "all risks" policy. Topics discussed include the "all risks" policy of marine insurance; different kinds of losses involving vessels; and the fortuity of unexplained, premature mechanical failures of vessels.
