- Abstract
This article analyzes the conservative traits present in the government of the Fourth Transformation in Mexico. It highlights the respect for the capitalist economic model, the concentration of power in the presidential figure, the persistence of antidemocratic practices such as corruption, the imposition of a new morality from power, and the threat of militarization through the strengthening of the armed forces. It is mentioned that President López Obrador has maintained a harmonious relationship with Mexican businesspeople and has not provided new or extraordinary social support during the pandemic. Additionally, the relationship between the Mexican government and the private sector is analyzed, highlighting that corporate organizations have not criticized government decisions due to a convenient relationship. Cases of irregularities and corruption accusations in the government are also mentioned. On the other hand, the criticisms and corruption accusations directed at the Mexican government are analyzed, as well as the conservative positions of the government regarding gender rights and sexual diversity. The growing influence of the armed forces in the exercise of power and the repression of social mobilizations are highlighted. The government of the Fourth Transformation in Mexico shows a conservatism in its approach, even on the part of the president himself.
