- Authors

- Abstract
The article reports on difficulties in the provision of HIV and AIDS services to refugees in Egypt. The lack of medical resources for refugees in Egypt is noted, mentioning that refugees are forced to rely on non-governmental organizations and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The stigma associated with HIV and AIDS in Egyptian culture is discussed, noting that non-refugees found to be HIV-positive were deported from Egypt prior to 2004. The work of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) to provide anonymous voluntary confidential counselling and testing (VCCT) after 2004 is also discussed.
