- Abstract
This document is a response to a letter to the editor regarding a study comparing two different techniques of thoracic paravertebral block (TPB) in postoperative analgesia for thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery. The authors address concerns raised by the editor and provide additional information to help readers understand their research. They clarify that the doctors performing TPB in both groups were experienced, although the balance of their experience levels could not be guaranteed. The study focused on surgical simplicity, surgical time, success rate of the first puncture, and analgesic effect, but did not include postoperative opioid analgesia strategies. The authors also explain that the surgical time of the thoracoscopy-guided technique was shorter due to not requiring additional disinfection and sterile drapes. They thank the editor for their contribution and acknowledge the funding support for the study.
