- Abstract
This article, titled "Criminal Justice and Technology," discusses three specific challenges that arise from the rapid development of technology in criminal justice systems. The first challenge focuses on protecting legal professional privilege when digital material is seized under a search warrant. The second challenge explores the management of risk at the intersection of law and computer science. The third challenge addresses the danger of erroneous identification when individuals in the criminal justice system are required to make identifications from images. The article emphasizes the need for regulations and practices to effectively manage the risks and opportunities presented by human/technological interactions in the criminal justice system.
