- Abstract
The article discusses plans of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to send teachers into space in an effort to cultivate space exploration studies in the classroom. Barbara Morgan, NASA's first educator mission specialist, has discussed her mission experience through the use of interactive educational in-flight events with students in Idaho, Virginia, and Massachusetts. The article also discusses the education philosophies of NASA's Office of Education, its education payload operations (EPO), and engineering design challenges.
