- Abstract
In the article "Leipzig Imperial Judges of Jewish Descent," the author Dieter Miosge describes the professional situation of Jewish judges at the Reich Court during the time of National Socialism. He sheds light on the possibility for Jews to become judges by converting to Christianity. Miosge introduces the biographies of the Jewish imperial judges and describes in detail how they were forced out of office. He extensively quotes from the records and demonstrates the discrimination and persecution of the Jewish judges. The work provides insight into the history of Jewish judges at the Reich Court and is an important addition to legal history and Judaica libraries.
