- Abstract
10.1007/s00381-021-05357-8. 34791531 2 Caffey J. The whiplash shaken infant syndrome: manual shaking by the extremities with whiplash-induced intracranial and intraocular bleedings, linked with residual permanent brain damage and mental retardation. Vinchon claims that tossing a baby into the air is harmless play; Caffey listed it as a cause of whiplash that can lead to permanent brain damage [[3]]. Dear Editor: Matthieu Vinchon has a considerable history of academic research so we are sorry to see him resort to the language and level of cheap political rhetoric [[1]].
