Efeitos da detomidina na motilidade cecal de equinos.

- Abstract
A detomidina é um agonista do receptor a2-adrenérgico amplamente utilizado em equinos, proporcionando sedação, analgesia e miorrelaxamento. Contudo é um medicamento utilizado com cautela por médicos veterinários devido aos efeitos colaterais. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o número de descargas íleocecais em equinos e possíveis efeitos adversos no sistema digestório após a administração de detomidina sem a realização de jejum prévio. Foram utilizados 16 equinos adultos, oito machos e oito fêmeas, em bom estado nutricional e sanitário, mantidos em piquetes de 36 m2 e recebendo feno de coast cross e água ad libitum. Os animais foram separados em dois grupos, com quatro machos e quatro fêmeas cada um, sendo um controle, em que foi administrado por via endovenosa 0,02 mg/kg de solução fisiológica, e o tratado, com administração de 0,02 mg/kg de detomidina. Os animais foram submetidos à sedação sem jejum prévio e foram avaliados os tempos imediatamente antes da administração (T0) e nos minutos 15 (T15), 30 (T30) e 120 (T120) posteriores à administração do fármaco. Após o T120, os animais retornaram ao piquete, onde havia disponibilidade de água e feno. A avaliação consistiu na auscultação da descarga íleocecal e acompanhamento de possíveis distúrbios digestórios após a sedação pelo período de 48 horas. O número de descargas auscultadas no grupo tratado foi de 2,8 ± 1,0 no T0, 0,9 ± 1,1 no T15, 0,5 ± 0,8 no T30 e 1,5 ± 1,2 no T120. Já no grupo controle foram auscultadas 2,4 ± 0,5 no T0, 2,6 ± 0,7 no T15, 2,3 ± 0,7 no T30 e 2,3 ± 0,8 no T120. Para a realização da análise estatística foi utilizado o programa GrapPad prisma 9.0. Aplicou-se o teste de Friedman para a análise entre os grupos e o teste de Mann-Whitney para a análise intragrupo. A análise realizada entre grupos revelou diferenças na avaliação da motilidade cecal nos momentos T15 (p = 0,007) e T30 (p = 0,002). Houve diferença intragrupo entre T0 e T30 (p = 0,002) no grupo tratado, e no grupo controle não houve diferença entre os momentos. Estes resultados evidenciam a redução da motilidade cecal quando administrada a detomidina. Apesar da não realização de jejum prévio e da utilização da dose de 0,02 mg/kg do medicamento, os equinos não apresentaram nenhum tipo de desconforto decorrente da hipomotilidade. Ainda que evidenciada a diminuição da motilidade cecal, a detomidina mostrou-se segura para a sedação de equinos nas condições em que o experimento foi realizado.
