- Abstract
To study the therapeutic effect of “Ke-Teng-Zi” (The seeds of Entada phaseoloides) extract on histamine-induced mice with acute itching, the successful histamine-induced acute itch mice were randomly divided into model group,“KeTeng-Zi” groups at 25.0,50.0, and 100.0 mg/kg dosage, and positive control group (diphenhydramine as positive drug, 10.0 mg/kg). The results showed that the extract of “Ke-Teng-Zi” could reduce the number of scratches in histamineinduced mice with acute itching, significantly improve skin epidermal thickening, and relieve the infiltration of inflammatory cells and declined the number of mast cells. Furthermore, the extract of “Ke-Teng-Zi” could down-regulate the gene expression of HIR, TRPV1, IL-4, IL-6, IL-1β, IL-33, TNF-α, TSLP in skin and itch-related factor receptors in DRG, as well as decreasing the content of H1R, TSLP and IL-4 in the skin tissue. The extract of “Ke-Teng-Zi” could significantly alleviate the symptoms of mice with acute itching induced by histamine, and the mechanism may relate to the downregulation of gene and protein expression of itching factors.
