- Abstract
Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women aged 30 to 69 due to neoplasms, and it presents itself as a recent public health issue, mainly because it is a neoplasm with high preventive potential. The main symptoms of cervical cancer can include: leukorrhea, itching, odor, burning, lower abdominal pain, dyspareunia, and metrorrhagia. The findings reinforce current recommendations for cytological tests, as there is a high potential for prevention and treatment. This is a narrative literature review aimed at analyzing nurses' interventions that can bring about changes in behaviors, habits, and lifestyle for cervical cancer prevention from the perspective of female clients. The study was conducted by collecting data through a literature search on the topic. Data collection utilized the Regional BVS Portal and Google Scholar as databases. Articles included in this study emphasized the importance of cervical cancer screening and supported the work of nurses in practice.
