- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding packaging and labeling, a case involving Northern Feather International, Inc. is discussed, in which the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charged that the company misrepresented the contents of its feather and down products. Regarding credit terms and conditions of sale, a case involving Allied Stores Corp. is discussed, in which the FTC charged that the company failed to inform retail customers the specific reasons why it denied them credit, as required by law.
