- Abstract
The experiment was to investigate the effect of rumen RP-Lys and RP-Met on production performance and apparent digestibility of nutrients of finishing cattle in Guanling, Guizhou Province. Twenty-four Guizhou Guanling fattening bulls (20±2)-month-old with body weight of (220±25) kg were randomly divided into four groups, with six replicates in each group, and one bull in each replicate. Group A was the low nitrogen diet control group. Beef cattle in group B were fed with a basal diet supplemented with 0.15 g/W0.75 RP-Lys and group C was fed with 0.15 g/W0.75 RP-Met. Group D was supplemented with 0.15 g/W0.75 RP-Lys + 0.15 g/W0.75 RP-Met in basal diet. The pre-test lasted for 14 d and the formal test lasted for 120 d. The results showed that compared with control group, low-nitrogen diet supplemented with rumen lysine and methionine could increase the average daily gain, significantly reduce the feed to gain ratio, reduce nitrogen excretion, and improve the apparent digestibility of crude protein in diet. The experiment indicates that the supplementation of 0.15 g/W0.75 RP-Lys + 0.15 g/W0.75RP-Met in diet of finishing cattle can achieve better production performance.
