The article looks on the maximum damper and air economizer leakage requirements in the U.S. energy codes and standards for nonresidential building envelopes. The type of dampers covered are outdoor air intake and exhaust opening dampers. The codes and standards discussed are the American Society of Heating Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1, the International Code Council's International Energy Conservation Code, and the California's Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
