- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the 1982 oxidized portrait of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat created by American artist Andy Warhol. Topics discussed include the significant role of art dealer Bruno Bischofberger to the collaboration between Basquiat and Warhol, the use of a Polaroid picture by Warhol as reference for this portrait, and brief details about the oxidation painting techniques of Warhol which consist of mixing urine with metallic pigment.
