- Abstract
The article reports that Mt. Prospect in Illinois, sponsor for the Alexander Graham Bell Montessori School, has received a grant of $5,000 from the Donald P. and Byrd M. Kelly Foundation. The grant is said to improve literacy rates for deaf children in Chicago and support a newly created Director of Program position for Alternatives in Education for the Hearing Impaired (AEHI). It is mentioned that the grant also supports special services provided at the Montessori School, and other programs including a family summer camp and a Parent and Infant program for babies with diagnosed hearing loss.
