- Abstract
Complex formation of propionic acid with ions of rare-earth metals of the yttrium subgroup (D2O, 5.0 M NaNO3) in the absence and presence of diamagnetic Mg2+ cations was studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy in combination with mathematic simulation of complicated equilibria. Stability constants for monopropionate complexes of rare-earth ions decrease when the rare-earth cation and Mg2+ are present in the system together.
