The article presents a case study of a 48 year old male patient with newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS who presented to physicians with recurrent Rhodococcus equi bacteremia, pericardial effusion, and pericardial cyst. A discussion of successful treatment which was offered to the patient, and of the effective treatment of Rhodococcus equi bacteremia, is presented.
