- Abstract
This article presents information on a case study regarding contact allergy to miconazole, an antifungal agent. A 56-year-old male Caucasian was hospitalized with a superinfected acute dermatitis on the feet. For a fungal infection, he had used a miconazole-containing cream. An acute vesicular dermatitis with superinfection was seen on the dorsa of both feet, with a papulovesicular dermatitis on the extremities. Imidazole derivatives are powerful and frequently prescribed antimycotics. The sensitizing rate of imidazole derivatives is presumably very low.
