The Golden Age of School Social Work Literature.
- Authors
Fisher, Randy A.
- Abstract
The article tackles the developments in school social work literature. It recalls that during the 1970s, occasional writings focused on school social work were published in "Social Work," "Social Casework," and "Social Service Review." The author recounts that there were no school social work text books then, and articles in the "Encyclopedia of Social Work" were only brief and had insufficient information. In 2009, it was observed that electronic databases made the compilation for current articles easy. Also analyzed is the golden age of school social work literature which started in the late 1970s with the first issues of the "School Social Work Journal." The publication of school social work textbooks began in the 1980s.
