- Abstract
The American Society of Transplantation (AST) is hosting a Controversies Conference on Ethics in Xenotransplantation in January 2024. The conference is closed to a limited number of participants, but they are welcoming input from interested parties before and after the conference to incorporate into written and video materials. The conference aims to consider all aspects of xenotransplantation, including the impact of race. Additionally, the AST plans to submit a proposal to the AST Visionaries Challenge that incorporates artificial intelligence and pathology. They are seeking responses to five questions related to the ethical justification, human research subjects, recipient selection, risk assessment, and intellectual property rights in xenotransplantation. Members of the AST are also invited to answer these questions through an online form.
