- Abstract
Iopromid, a non-ionic contrast medium, is a derivative of iodinated isophalic acid. It has similar physicochemical properties to other non-ionic contrast media, e.g. iohexol, iomeprol and iopentol. Although late adverse reactions to non-ionic contrast agents are not uncommon, little attention has so far been paid to them. Later reactions to contrast media have been shown to occur more frequently than immediate reactions. Most organ systems can be affected by such delayed reactions, common symptoms including headache, rash, itching, nausea, fatigue etc.
