- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Energy Materials, researchers led by Steven Wang have developed a camel-fur-inspired membrane that can passively cool air without the need for additional energy input. The membrane absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and releases it for evaporative cooling, effectively regulating building temperature. The average cooling power of the membrane is 630 W m−2, surpassing the cooling power of radiative cooling methods. This innovative approach has potential applications in space cooling and could contribute to energy efficiency in buildings.
