- Abstract
The term dementia happened to be replaced in the last version of the DSM - V, to the being considered pejorative, since in the Latin etymology it implies madness or insane for the concept of Major Neurocognitive Disorder. To illustrate this conceptualization in a young adult, we present the description of some of the results obtained in the neuropsychological evaluation of a 25-year-old patient diagnosed with Major Neurocognitive Disorder secondary to a primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the central nervous system. He develop an anomic aphasia and a syndrome of dorsolateral predominance, presented by altered behavior and mood, evidence of a loss of autonomy time for the development of basic, instrumental activities and advances in daily life.
