- Abstract
An interview with Xiang-Sheng Chen, the deputy director of the National Center for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control at China's Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is presented. He discusses a resurgence of syphilis in China since its virtual eradication in the 1960s. Chen notes the challenges of screening female sex workers for syphilis due to harassment by bodyguards.
