- Title
A Heart Felt Remembrance: Some of the Ways we Knew Joan Acker.
- Authors
Calás, Marta B.; Smircich, Linda
- Abstract
As in the original article, in this chapter Joan explicitly mentioned several organization studies works addressing gender, including our incipient efforts at the time, but here she explicitly named ours as deconstructions. Joan was often invited to write commentaries and analyses for various journals, including some in which we were involved, and we always noted her unassuming posture regarding the importance of her own work, and her generosity towards the work of others. Joan and Barbara came to visit us in Massachusetts for a few days and, as usual, Joan's wittiness and contagious playfulness made every day a delight.
