Nominee Under Fire.

- Abstract
This article reports that gay rights groups are asking the U.S. Senate to reject the nomination of James Holsinger to become the country's Surgeon General because of a paper he wrote 16 years ago that described homosexuality as "biologically unnatural." Holsinger was nominated for the job by U.S. President George W. Bush and at the time of nomination, the President praised Holsinger for his focus on educating parents and children about childhood obesity. Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, says that the paper authored by Holsinger shows that his bias will not allow him to look objectively at scientific information.
