- Abstract
The article explores the use of multi-modal literacy tools and techniques in teaching science to middle grade students in a traditional curriculum inside the classroom. The study used a Collaborative Interactive Group Action Research (CIGAR) to define and implement multi-modal literacies in middle school curriculum. It also shows the chronological phases of the CIGAR cycle and recommends further research on science teaching issues, teacher preparation and pedagogy of multi-modal application.
