- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 16-year-old girl with low mood and behaviour disturbances which include school refusal. She was started on an antidepressant and the rap songs that she wrote was discussed as part of her therapy sessions. Her sessions revealed the childhood trauma hinted in her songs, her mood improved, and she managed to obtain a bakery apprenticeship. The article discusses the value of hip-hop and rap music to enhance psychological intervention in adolescence psychiatry.
