- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of history teaching as an important justice mechanism in transitional and post-conflict societies. It discusses whether teaching of history could contribute in the development of social cohesion and empathy among former enemies and promote greater trusts in public institutions including schools. It cites the role of history education as an effective way of articulating the connections between society and state.
