- Abstract
An editorial is presented on the Mitochondria and Human Immunodeficiency Virus. The article discusses that antiretroviral therapy (ART) was introduced for treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, mitochondria have featured prominently in the landscape of HIV clinical care; and these intracellular organelles have held seemingly disproportionate importance in the history of HIV and its treatment.
