- Abstract
Examines the evolution of Chinese painting in the artistic traditions of China. Emergence of a creative freedom in the brushwork used for ceramic and pottery decorations; Transformation of painting styles from being used for decorative purposes to being valued solely for the artistic enjoyment they provided; Development of the technology of special painting paper made of rice so well that a calligraphy brush could absorb a lot of ink at one time and then print on rice paper in many different shades.
