The author discusses professor Jadran Mimica 's criticism on Melanesian research that should be included in the anthropology between phenomenological and Foucauldian positions. He is critical on the stand of Mimica on the analytical vocabulary that characterises epochal changes in European history. However, the author disagrees on Mimica's refusal to recognize how western pastoral, disciplinary, and individual practices as part of colonial policing regimes.
