- Abstract
This article discusses the passage of legislation in the British Parliament that confirms a decision by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority to allow geneticists to produce human animal hybrids. These hybrids, which combine adult human cells with enucleated animal oocytes, will produce stem cell lines for disease modeling in research. Michael Hunt, the chief executive of the biotechnology company ReNeuron Group PLC advocated the further liberalisation of stem cell regulations.
