- Abstract
The article presents a study on a vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 33a (Vps33a)-mediated Receptor Activator for nuclear factor k B Ligand (RANKL) lysosomal storage. The study identified Vps33a as a molecule targeting RANKL to secretory lysosomes, and revealed a possible homeostasis regulation by the subcellular localization of Vps33a-mediated RANKL. It also suggested that the lysosomal organelles where RANKL is localized function as secretory lysosomes.
