- Abstract
The article discusses the move of the Department of Treasury to re-examine regulatory structures to determine the competitiveness of the financial market in the U.S. It highlights the agency's findings, which indicate that the threats to the country's competitiveness are real and growing. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposes several measures to address competitiveness issues and minimizes the requirements for the International Financial Reporting Standards.
