- Abstract
Introduction: Persistent hearing loss of thirty decibels or more lasting for two months after resolution of the middle ear aeration and healing of the tympanic membrane is suggestive of ossicular injury. Otoendoscopic evaluation is significantly valuable in assessing ossicular chain in the middle ear. Method: Case report. Result: We present two eases of post motor vehicle accident whereby ossicular disruption was clearly demonstrated in otoendoscopy. Conclusion: Otoendoscopy through a non-perforated or perforated tympanic membrane in post-traumatic patient can be readily done. It provides a comprehensive middle ear evaluation when it combines with audiometry and CT imaging.
