- Abstract
The article discusses the discovery at the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal, a branch of the National Library of France, of documents related to debates over Chinese Christian participation in ancestral and Confucian rites. The documents focus on the role of missionaries from the organization Missions étrangères de Paris (MEP) in these debates. Details on documents related to the MEP's mission in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, are presented. Other topics include the expulsion of missionaries from China and the burial of missionary Guillaume Fabre-Bonjour.
