- Abstract
The article focuses on the Lazaro Galdiano Museum has preserved a fragment of a Flemish panel including Virgin kissed by the Child from the early 16th century that, despite its intrinsic quality, has so far barely aroused the interest of art historians. It mentions that copies of the Virgin kissed by the Child date from the second half of the 16th century or the first quarter of the 17th century and present a seated half-length Mary, with the Child Jesus on the left. It also mentions the work of painter Marcellus Coffermans including the Virgin kissed by the Child.
