- Abstract
This reflection focuses on faculty experiences regarding lessons learned while teaching in a master’s level health program during the COVID-19 pandemic. The experiences helped us to manage our way through switching our teaching methods quickly from face-to-face to virtual format during the university shutdown. Several challenges we experienced included blurred home and work routine responsibilities, mental health (for both faculty and students), student engagement, and technological issues. The uncertainty of pivoting our teaching methods during COVID-19 resulted in the faculty having feelings of fear and doubt, including an overall discomfort level. We learned that teaching during uncertain times offered us valuable lessons and provided positive takeaways to help us grow. Some of those takeaways included personal growth opportunities, gratitude and joy, and rediscovery of prior interests.
